grandeur in stone.
The towering structures exuded a sense of power and majesty, leaving visitors in awe of the intricate designs and craftsmanship. The elaborate carvings and imposing facades showcased the wealth and influence of those who commissioned them.
The sheer size of this architectural masterpiece mesmerizes one from the moment one passes past the massive granite walls and enters the Brihadisvara temple in Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu, South India) through the multistory entrance (gopuram), which is ninety-five feet tall.
The temple, built in the 11th century by King Raja Raja Chola I, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance of the Chola dynasty. The intricate details of the sculptures and reliefs on the temple walls tell stories of Hindu mythology and showcase the artistic talent of the craftsmen of that era.

It is also a testament to the Chola dynasty's remarkable accomplishments in the fields of construction, sculpture, painting, and the creation of fine bronze idols that were expressions of tremendous devotion. The UNESCO World Heritage Sites now include this temple, dating back a thousand years, further enhancing its unique historical and cultural significance.
Affinity Photo was used to edit the photographs that I took with a Canon 5D series camera. Using Behance, reaching out to creatives is a breeze.
I appreciate you tuning in.
